Are you eager to dip your toes into Google Ads but feeling overwhelmed by the complexities? No worries, I've got your back! Let's break down how to create a simple Google Ad campaign targeting just one keyword and with a fixed cost per click.
Google Ads Simplified: How to Create a Single-Keyword Campaign with a Set Price Per Click
Step 1: Set Up Your Google Ads Account
If you don't have a Google Ads account yet, now's the time to create one. It's your gateway to the world of online advertising. Once you're in, make sure you're in Expert Mode to unlock all the necessary features.
Step 2: Create a Search Campaign
Start a new campaign and select the "Search" campaign type. This will focus your ads on appearing in Google search results.
Step 3: Choose Manual CPC Bidding and Budget
Here's where you set the price per click. Opt for "Manual CPC bidding" to have full control over your maximum bid. To get an idea of what to expect, use the Keyword Planner tool (found under Tools > Planning). For your budget, aim for at least 10 times your maximum CPC bid to ensure you get a good amount of clicks per day.
Step 4: Select Your Keyword and Match Type
Enter your single keyword and surround it with square brackets (e.g., [keyword]). This tells Google you want to use "Exact Match," meaning your ad will only show when someone searches for that exact keyword.
Step 5: Craft Your Ad
Write compelling headlines and descriptions that entice people to click your ad. Think about what would appeal to someone searching for your chosen keyword.
Step 6: Publish and Verify
Hit the publish button, and Google will likely ask you to verify your identity. Once that's done, your campaign will go live!
